Points of light in a field of stars
Hailed as the single-most successful mission in the history of manned spaceflight, the crew of the icarus-i return to earth for a hero’s welcome. NASA’s triumph promises a future of bold new missions and kindles a renewed world-wide interest in space exploration. For Jonathan Cutright and his crew, however, the achievement is tempered by a deeper reverence for all they have experienced, and by the sadness that one of their shipmates didn’t make it home to share in the outcome.
